“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Welcome!
Whether you want to explore questions that are arising to the surface of your life, want someone to hold you accountable to take action and make change happen, or are in a life emergency and need a hand to get you through it – you’re in the right place. In such complex times, which Joanna Macy has aptly termed The Great Unraveling and Turning, it is more important than ever to support each other in our effort to live meaningful and satisfying lives that are in congruence with the needs of others and our planet. We don’t have to face it all on our own; together we are stronger and more resilient.
About Lorenz
I am a Certified Professional Life and Leadership Coach with a MBA and 10+ years’ experience in non-profit leadership. As a coach and international development expert, I aim at catalyzing the personal and professional growth of my clients and team members to reach their goals while also improving the well-being of thousands of economically poor all over the world.
Over the last fifteen years, I have lived in eight countries spanning six continents–Kyrgyzstan, Colombia, Ethiopia, Jordan, Solomon Islands, Italy, Austria, and the United States and have visited over 30 more countries for work or personal interest. Coming into contact with a diversity of cultures, (hi)stories, personalities, challenging situations, and ecosystems, has taught me a lot about others, myself, and life in general.
I am an explorer at heart, whether it is hitchhiking through the Omo Valley in Southern Ethiopia, exploring my inner life through years of meditating practices, or looking for new ways to make markets work for the poor as part of my professional track. Through it all, I have been dedicated assiduously to a path of learning and growth to improve my relationship with myself and the world.
Since 2014 I have been married to my amazing wife, with whom I have a shared commitment to learning and growing within our relationship and who, as a psychotherapist, has taught me so much about the workings of our inner world.
In my coaching practice I integrate all of this into a unique, one-of-a-kind offering for my clients.
Coaching
What is coaching and what is it not?
Coaching is to “Partner with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential” (International Coaching Federation – ICF). Coaching is not giving advice, therapy, or counseling. However, coaches may use psychological principles and discuss their clients’ past, thoughts, fears, and desires, with the aim of identifying potential blocks to their clients’ goals. Coaching is goal oriented.
Our work together will focus on uncovering your unseen and untapped opportunities and talents in a framework of your present and future.
My twist to coaching:
I am trained and certified by the American School of Professional Coaching (ASPC) to provide value-centered coaching services. This means that I help my clients identify their core values and align their life in congruence with those values. Values ought to inform our daily decisions, as these decisions will define the life we live and the kind of person we ultimately become. We must consider carefully what change we aim for, for we may just succeed in attaining it.
I take a client-centered approach–a journey of co-discovery that focuses on each client’s unique goals and strengths. Much of the work I do with clients is in the following areas of life:
- Career development
- Non-profit leadership
- Navigating major life changes
- Personal empowerment
- Relationships, love, connection
- Learning and personal growth
- Finding meaning and purpose
- Living in congruence with core values
- Spirituality
- Getting through life emergencies
Clients
Who are my clients?
My clients are individuals who, while living in the messy reality of daily life, believe in the goodness of humanity and dare to hope for a better future for themselves and others. They are typically 20-50 years old of all genders with a global mindset–whether expats, (aspiring) global nomads, or globally-oriented folk with less of a traveler’s itch. They are professionals, non-profit leaders, homemakers, students, thinkers, spiritual seekers, and/or humanitarians seeking a more expansive life.

“What we bring to life’s table will be a function of how much of our journey we have made conscious, and how much courage we were able to muster to live it in the real world that life has presented to us.”
